The Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) makes sure that businesses operate in an open and honest way. They were created to stop unfair methods of competition between businesses and create guidelines for businesses to follow.

This is their mission statement -

Working to protect consumers by preventing anticompetitive, deceptive, and unfair business practices, enhancing informed consumer choice and public understanding of the competitive process, and accomplishing this without unduly burdening legitimate business activity.

Customers and honest businesses are protected from underhand dealings.

The FTC will penalize those that don't follow their guidelines. This is to ensure that everyone operates under the same rules, offline or online.

I have always tried to be upfront and honest with you on how my site makes money.

I have disclosures on all my affiliate pages and I make sure my ads look like ads.

To comply with the FTC guidelines updated in 2018 I have written this disclosure to make sure you are aware of the relationship I have with the affiliates, advertisers and recommendations you may see on my site.

As an honest business I welcome these guidelines and I'm quite happy to answer any questions you may have. You can contact me here

I Love Crafts

I created and continue to work on this site because I want to share my love of crafts with you.

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is where to get the materials and equipment to make these crafts.

A lot of my tutorials can use items you would already have in your kitchen or I'll give suggestions for recycling or repurposing old items to create something new.

A lot of my craft materials comes from charity stores, thrift shops or the dollar store, (pound shops in the UK). I always try to suggest the cheapest and most cost effective way to create the crafts I write about.

Affiliate Referrals

For your convenience I also list products that can be used to create these crafts.

If you click on a link on one of my product pages I may receive a small commission if you make a purchase.

This does not cost you anything, the price will remain the same to you no matter where you make the purchase. Whether that is through a link on my site or go directly to the seller.

As I am in the UK some of the products I use are not available in other countries so I try to find similar alternatives where possible.

Some of the products I list I have used myself, if I have not used a product I read through loads of reviews to find the best products I can for you.

Mia's Craft Ideas is not responsible in any way for your purchases and you should also do you own research before you buy.

Mia's Craft Ideas is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Advertising

You may also see Google Ads on some of my pages. I also receive a small payment if you click on one of these ads. I have no control over which ads are displayed but hopefully they are useful to you.

Recommendations

I recommend companies or products that I use and trust. I may receive a small commission if you purchase using a link on my site.

This does not affect my view of the companies or products. I wouldn't recommend something to you that I wouldn't want to use myself.
